Sh2 126 - The Lacerta (Gecko)

Sh2-126 is a striking dark nebula located in the constellation Lacerta, known for its intricate structures and surrounding Ha (hydrogen-alpha) emission clouds. This celestial object showcases vast regions of interstellar dust that obscure the light from stars behind it, creating a dramatic contrast with the glowing red clouds of ionized hydrogen gas. These Ha emissions illuminate the nebula’s intricate details, providing a captivating view of the dynamic processes occurring within.

Although often imaged at shorter focal length and wider field of view, it offers many interesting details especially in the prominent dark nebula structures.
